Thanks to everyone who made it out to our Labor Day event! It was great fun for everyone, especially those who got to join in on the LaBeau LeMans Grand Prix 20. It was a little slow for the first leg of the race, but it was well worth it for the leg back to shore as we were all flying hulls to the finish. You can get more details and view some GPS tracks at the LaBeau LeMans 2008 post.
For those who left early you missed out on some great wind Sunday evening! Tents were flattened, children were rolling down the beach, and a couple of beached catamarans were picked up and flipped over in the 40+ mph wind gusts. The sailing right up to that point was incredible and made it all worthwhile.
The USA has one more event for this year, so don’t put your boat away for the winter just yet. We have our annual Oktoberfest Outing taking place Saturday September 27th up at Pineview Resevoir.

Saturday was a perfect day for the first time out in many years! The slow trip up was perfect for letting my wife Deb get comfortable with her first time out on a cat. The screaming reach back gave her a taste of what the boat can really do with some wind. I just wish we had the trapeze rigging set up… I spilled way too much wind keeping the boat right side up through the “Pickleville willies”
