So we went for it! Â Coty and I hauled the Nacra F-18 Infusion out to Long Beach to compete in the Western Area Formula 18 Championship. Â I figured that this is my last summer off before the hospital owns me for 80+ hours/week so I might as well do it while I can! Â We had an awesome two days of racing with 7 races total. Â We learned a lot about making out boat go faster especially on the spinnaker run. Â The championship was hosted well by the Alamitos Bay Yacht Club the North American Formula 18 Association Chairman Dan Delave. Â We would like to extend a special thanks to Ian Sammis who let us crash at his pad while there in Long Beach. Â Check out a few photos we took while there including pics of the custom Nacra Infusion that took 1st place. Â Click on the link below to see our GPS tracks of the day 1 races.

The fourth of July weekend at Bear Lake turned out fantastic! Â We had hull-flyin wind all three days filled with good company and great food. Â The first annual “Gumball Rally” was a fun two heats around a long course running from the east shore to the west shore of Bear Lake. Â We were given bonus points for packing on as many of our family members as were willing. Â Check out the results below. Â Click here to see some photos.

Last weekend at Utah lake, The keel boats raced in the first half of
the Utah summer Games.
It started out as a rainy, overcast day. Later
in the morning the sky cleared up and it turned into a beautiful Day.
There was a decent turn out of about 9 boats. Shaun, Coty, Pia, and I
went out on our cats to play while the keel boats did their thing.
Wade, Collette and Werner sailed “Hell of a Woman”, They were there to
represent the USA. It was Wades first race on his boat and they had a
great time. He finished 7th overall, even though he didn’t take a
medal he did beat BYU.
Way to go Wade, It was a fun day, I hope the
weather is as nice for the summer games at Deer Creek. Brett did a
great job organizing and I think the Provo sailors Had a great time.
