I only recorded the second leg of the race on my GPS. The first leg was pretty slow going so there wasn’t a lot of action. I think I timed in around 1h 55m on the first leg and only 34m on the second leg, so obviously the winds had really picked up over lunch.

The winds on the return trip seemed to come in gusts, but for the most part was pretty strong the whole way. Just about everyone was flying hulls all the way to the finish. A few boats had some close calls with capsizing, but only Randy & Jason really got to practice their trapeze acrobatics before their boat went down.

I never heard what the official race results were, but if I find out I’ll update the post with the top boats.

These are the GPS tracks we recorded from Day 2 of the Regatta, which provided us with some great wind! There are three total races contained in the track, along with a few extra reaches in there to take advantage of the high winds after the races completed.

Shaun and I took his F18 up to Deer Creek on Saturday to get some practice in on his new boat before the Summer Games. Sven was up there with his Inter20, and Brett and Beverly were out on a small motor boat scouting the grounds for the Summer Games courses. The winds were incredible from 11am on and we had a great time double-trapping the boat for most of the day. We had a GPS on board and posted the tracks below…
